Job Description:

As a Senior Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining all our fleet vehicles and equipment. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and work with our team of mechanics to ensure the safety and performance of our fleet, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan for fleet of vehicles.
• Conduct thorough inspections of our fleet to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake adjustments and filter replacements.
• Overhaul engines and transmissions when required.
• Keep accurate records and logs of all maintenance and repair work.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Train and mentor junior mechanics as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
• Collaborate with the parts department to source and order necessary components.

Requirements:

• A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a diesel mechanic. Experience in a senior role is a plus.
• ASE certifications or similar.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly while adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekend and holidays when required.
