SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Director, Information Technology & Knowledge Management (SD IT&KM) is responsible for the planning, coordination, direction, and design of all IT and KM strategies and capabilities of the FSC. The areas the SD IT&KM is accountable for include data analytics and business intelligence, development and support, infrastructure, security and technical services. SDIT&KM is also required to develop processes and policies to provide for the effective and secure use of the organization’s data, records and systems.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the organization's digital transformation initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and emphasizing the FSSC Cyber Resilience Principles in IT operations and solutions. Champion the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance business efficiency, resilience, and competitiveness.
- Develop and execute the Information Technology and Data Management Strategic Plan, ensuring alignment with the FSC's mandate, objectives, and strategies. Drive the successful implementation of operational initiatives, delivering results within agreed timeframes and adhering to required standards.
- Oversee financial planning for IT investments, including developing, tracking, and controlling the annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide sound technical evaluation to direct the acquisition, design, development, maintenance and security of systems and programmes to meet the needs of the FSC.
- Formulate and implement Divisional and organisational service level agreements, policies and procedures to maximise output, reduce security risks, identify performance anomalies to create greater effectiveness.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, presentations, requirements documentation; communicate with stakeholders in accordance with the implementation and operational plan
- Develop and sustain a comprehensive information governance framework that ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and safeguards company information across all operations.
- Align information security and data protection initiatives with overall business strategy and objectives, ensuring a cohesive approach to risk mitigation and data security.
- Enhance the organization's capabilities to manage data-related risks and effectively respond to cyber threats, ensuring proactive protection and resilience.
- Collaborate closely with other C-suite executives, including the Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Privacy Officer, and Chief Risk Officer, to align IT strategies and initiatives with broader business goals, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards, data protection mandates, and business continuity requirements.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive backup and recovery strategy to ensure business continuity, incorporating both on-site and off-site backup solutions that align with organizational needs and industry best practices.
- Define and implement clear procedures for data backup, retention, and recovery, ensuring adherence to predefined schedules, Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Post Graduate Degree in, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Information Management, Operations Management or equivalent qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent qualifications
- Professional certifications in Information Technology and Project Management would be an asset
Experience:
- At least 10 years relevant work experience in information technology of which at least five (5) should be in an Information and Communication Technology (“ICT”) management or leadership post in a comparable business/work environment such as a: financial institution, regulatory entity or government agency.
- Experience in implementing ICT enterprise solutions and Vendor Management would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of Business Process Re-engineering including applications for workflow mapping.
