Senior Claims Associate - Own Damage Unit

we are looking for a dynamic individual to join our claims team, that possess the requisite knowledge as outlined in the JD.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:  

• An undergraduate degree from a recognized tertiary institution and/or Insurance Diploma
• Five (5) years’ experience working in a similar capacity with an insurance company, financial institution or broker
• Good inter-personal skills, ability to deal with the public, ability to negotiate a positive outcome for both company and     client
• Above average IT familiarity and aptitude
• Ability to function under pressure, able to multi-task
• Attention to detail
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate/prepare settlement of Own Damage claims
• Ensuring accuracy of assigned claim files by thoroughly reviewing the data on 4D
• Timely updates to brokers/ clients, provision of good customer service
• Ensure adequacy of Reserves
• Participate in Periodic Claims Review
• Review Investigator’s Report
• Check for policy breaches and communicate same to brokers/clients/underwriters
• Prepare recovery details for submission to third party insurers etc
• Respond to telephone queries and emails
• Any other duty assigned by Supervisor/Manager
