Senior Civil Engineer for the Mammee River Development Project

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER VACANCY (MAMMEE BAY) 

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of Senior Civil Engineer for the Mammee River Development Project. 

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design and construction works carried out on the site to ensure compliance with the required specifications and standards. 

Responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to: 

• Prepare structural drawings and designs based on project requirements
• Review design drawings in collaboration with the Engineers Representative
• Conduct feasibility studies and inspections
• Assess, prepare and implement project plans
• Manage budgets, resources and schedules
• Direct, lead and support the construction team and quality control engineers in executing the project
• Coordinate site inspections and give reports on quality, safety and progress of the various work sites; and notify the sub-contractors of issues raised to be corrected
• Ensure inspection forms are properly documented and signed off daily
• Report on technical issues and be a part of the solution to resolve problems encountered
• Attend meetings and address issues raised by the sub-contractors or clients within assigned portfolio
• Prepare and review change orders to resolve technical problems encountered
• Review design drawings in collaboration with the Engineers Representative

 Requirements:

• Over eight (8) years’ experience in construction especially field experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related discipline
• Practising Certificate from Professional Engineers Registration Board is a plus
• Knowledgeable of Technical Specifications and Standards
• Knowledgeable of ISO system and standards
• Familiar with design software such as AutoCAD & P6
• Highly responsive with strong organizational, communication and influencing skills
• Project management skills and results driven
• Ability to work on weekends
• Ability to work in a fast-moving and culturally diverse environment
• Must reside in Ocho Rios & its environs
