Job Summary

The Senior Business Relationship Officer is instrumental in cultivating and managing business and high-value customer relationships. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional service and tailored financial solutions to meet the diverse needs of our business members. You will leverage your expertise in financial products and market trends to enhance client satisfaction and drive business growth. As a Senior Business Relationship Officer, you will serve as a trusted advisor, understanding their unique financial needs and delivering solutions that drive mutual success.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain Business Relationships ensuring regular communication and engagement to understand their financial needs and objectives
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new Members, ensuring a smooth transition and comprehensive understanding of their financial requirements.

Financial Needs Assessment

  • Conduct Financial Assessments by analyzing members’ financial situations through meetings and discussions to identify their needs, goals, and potential challenges
  • Personalized Financial Planning by developing tailored financial plans and strategies that align with Members’ objectives, considering factors such as risk tolerance, investment preferences, and financial goals.

Customized Solutions

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the institution’s financial products and services, including loans, investments, insurance, and treasury services
  • Collaborate with product specialists and internal teams to create customized financial solutions that meet the specific needs of Members.

Business Development

  • Actively seek opportunities for new business and referrals from existing Members, leveraging relationships to expand the client base.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build relationships and promote the institution’s services.

Other Duties

  • Keep abreast of market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes that may impact Members’ financial decisions.
  • Offer Members informed insights and recommendations based on market analysis, helping them make sound financial decisions.
  • Regularly review client accounts to monitor performance, ensuring that financial strategies are effective and aligned with Members’ evolving needs.
  • Schedule and conduct periodic review meetings with Members to discuss account performance, address concerns, and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Identify potential risks associated with client accounts and relationships, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks, ensuring the protection of both the client’s and the institution’s interests.
  • Work closely with various departments, including credit, compliance, operations, and marketing, to ensure seamless service delivery and support for client needs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior relationship officers and staff, sharing best practices and enhancing team performance.
  • Ensure that all client interactions, transactions, and communications are accurately documented in the institution’s CRM system.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on client portfolio performance, growth metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
  • Act as an advocate for Members within the institution, ensuring their needs are prioritized and addressed promptly.
  • Proactively address and resolve any client issues or concerns, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Gather feedback from Members regarding their experiences and satisfaction levels, using this information to improve service delivery.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field
  • A proven track record in business relationship management, sales, or financial advisory roles (minimum 5 years).
  • Strong knowledge of financial products and services, particularly in business banking.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence decision-makers.
  • Results-driven, with a passion for achieving and exceeding sales and service targets.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying client needs and delivering innovative solutions.
