Barita Investments Limited invites suitably qualified applicants for the role of Senior Analyst, Alternative Investments & Structured Finance.

 Purpose of Role

The Senior Analyst of Alternative Investments and Structured Finance will be a part of a dynamic team that has been given the responsibility to optimize Barita’s alternative investments exposure within defined risk parameters. The incumbent will support the Head of the unit in the monitoring of alternative product portfolios, principal and strategic investments and contribute to the conceptualization and structuring of innovative financial products for the company and its clients. The incumbent will also support the overall Investment Banking process.

The incumbent will have broad exposure to private equity, private credit, deal origination, financial solutions ideation, debt/equity/mezz deal structuring, financial modelling, and alternative investments management.

Key Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Aiding in the origination, structuring and implementation of new Alternative Asset Products.
• Developing and maintaining various financial models that relate to projects undertaken by the unit as well as bespoke products created by the unit
• Preparing debt/equity/mezz type analyses for the internal deal approval process
• Supporting key business development operations, aimed at increasing revenue generation and Balance Sheet protection.  
• Assisting in the development of strategies to increase revenue generated by the unit
• Being the product owner of various debt and equity structures
• Assist in the execution of key strategic transactions for Barita and the wider group
• Monitoring and reporting on the performance of principal and strategic investments
• Monitoring, managing and preparing reports on portfolio performance, liquidity, and composition for portfolios managed by the unit
• Support the Investment Banking Process of performing due diligence, valuations and develop recommendations for product offerings

 Required Knowledge & Competencies

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills required, particularly Microsoft ExcelStrong financial analytic skills and an ability to balance risk/reward when evaluating investment opportunities.
• Knowledge of the regulatory environment of the local securities dealing industry.
• Sound knowledge of local, and global financial markets.

Required Qualifications and Experience (Minimum) 

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Accounts or any other related discipline.
• Graduate Level Degree in Finance/Economics (or related discipline), MBA and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) or minimum level II candidacy would be an asset
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience in Treasury Management, Investment Research, Portfolio Management or Investment Banking.
