The FSC has an immediate opening for the position of Senior Accounting Officer.

Position Summary:

The Senior Accounting Officer is responsible for the preparations of company forecasting, monthly payroll for senior management, records payables and reports on expenditures. The Job Holder will also perform a range of financial analysis revolving around the budget, cost analysis and related variances which contributes to the quarterly reports presented to the Executive and the Board, as a guide, to make sound decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and organize tasks to be completed within specified timelines.
• Prepare the supervisory and managerial staff payroll monthly and review the fortnightly payroll.
• Facilitate internal and external audit activities.
• Participate in the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Process purchase requisition forms daily, ensuring expenditures budgeted for are allocated to the appropriate cost center and general ledger accounts.
• Ensure that all accounting practices comply with internal policy and statutory requirements.
• Assist with the development of the operating procedures.

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Recognize and communicate perceived discrepancies in the accounting principles when they exist
• Prepare written reports and meeting face-to-face with organization managers and individual clients.
• Liaise effectively with external entities, (Ministry of Finance & Planning, Auditors, etc.) regarding interpretation of procedures and other accounting matters.

Education, Knowledge and Skills:

• Master’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field or its equivalent.

• The job requires a minimum of 6 years’ relevant work experience in a comparable position and business/work environment
