Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our group of Companies, which includes distribution, manufacturing, and packaging. The job requires a well-organized individual with strong attention to detail who can manage and efficiently coordinate an accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data by recording, verifying, and consolidating transactions.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations of multiple balance sheet and bank accounts.
• Prepare financial reports, including monthly management accounts and regional campus accounts.
• Oversee statutory reporting, including GCT returns and payroll statutory returns, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with external audits by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts.
•  To represent the company professionally or socially as the need arises
• To stay abreast of developments in Financial Management through journals, seminars, conferences, and professional associations
• To provide training to new team members and guide all team members through existing systems and procedures
• To deputize in the absence of Finance Manager and to designate a team member to act on your behalf when not available
• Monitor and maintain the company’s fixed assets register.
• Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Identify errors and recommend improvements to enhance financial efficiency and reduce costs.
• To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Requirements:

• ¨     B.Sc. in Accounting or ACCA level 2
• ¨      At least five (5) years in the field of Accounting and experience at a supervisory level
• ¨      Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements would be an asset
• ¨      Knowledge of International Accounting Standards
• ¨      Very strong Supervisory skills
