Senior Accountant (Distribution Sector)

• Supervision of the accounts Team
  
• Assist the C.F.O in the smooth running of internal systems.
  
• Maintain records regarding the valuation inventory.
  
• Review existing accounting software and recommend/implement new platform to suit business operations.
  
• Preparation of standard journals.
  
• Compile monthly VAT returns.
  
• Management of general ledger.
  
• Compile Monthly financial statements.
  
• Reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
  
• Recommend changes regarding additional controls and procedures necessary to ensure the accuracy of information.
  
• Assist the Financial Controller in administering financial and management accounting systems.
  
• Assist in the preparation and development of annual strategic plans and budgets:
  
• Ensure reporting deadlines are met.
  
• Assist in the management of the annual audit.
  
• Supply of Information to the external audit team.
  
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset register and adjusting for rates of depreciation accordingly.
  
• Regular audit checks are performed on all documentation used for inventory transactions.
  
• Assist with the timely reconciliation of cost of goods sold accounts.
  
• Ensure that the department is appropriately staffed.
  
• Analyze Individual training needs and implement appropriate training plans.

Requirements

• Fully qualified Accountancy designation (ACCA/CGA etc.)
  
• Min.  of five years’ relevant experience in a senior accounting role.
  
• Exposure to distribution, Manufacturing or Retail Sector preferred.
  
• Competent with QuickBooks and other enterprise class Accounting Software (Adagio experience an advantage but not essential)
  
• Proven supervisory skills.
