Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial part in ANSA McAL Barbados Limited by ensuring the timely and accurate preparation, development and analysis of accounting information. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively provide high-quality support to management and officers of the Company.

Job Description:

• Ensuring efficient month-end close and preparation of accurate monthly financial statements, reconciling all balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Preparing and calculating annual budgets and manage performance reporting.
• Managing the Year End Audit process.
• Preparing audit schedules for ANSA McAL (Barbados) and its Subsidiaries Consolidation, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and manage audit queries.
• Reviewing monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Reviewing quarterly financial reporting submissions.
• Reviewing corporate tax returns and VAT returns for compliance and accuracy.
• Preparing and processing journals for the general ledger for Joint Ventures.
• Reviewing and approving payment of vendor invoices.
• Reviewing account registers and schedules for completeness and accuracy.
• Reviewing accounting for expense reports and other transactions to ensure adherence to policies.
• Providing support and information to the Management Team as required.
• Ensuring compliance with the Group’s processes and policies as outlined in the ANSA McAL Blue Book.
• Performing any other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting, with two (2) years of experience at a supervisory level.
• ACCA or CPA qualified.
• A working knowledge and ability to work with Microsoft Office or similar packages.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy; competent in ERP, Microsoft Office.
• Proven analytical skills.
