JOB SUMMARY:
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the security operations at various client locations, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and information. This role involves supervising security personnel, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and law enforcement agencies. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess strong leadership skills to uphold and enhance the company's security standards.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment and Management: Identify and address gaps in security procedures and strategies. Develop and implement both immediate and long-term action plans to enhance security measures for clients.
- Personnel Development: Establish and manage programs for coaching, appraising, and developing security staff, ensuring continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their security needs are met and exceeded.
Key Duties:
- Supervision and Compliance:
- Oversee security operations in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Plan, assign, and monitor the work of security staff, ensuring adherence to job responsibilities and performance standards.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Incident Management:
- Handle and investigate security incidents promptly and effectively.
- Provide support to the Telecom Command Center during security emergencies or incidents.
- Client Interaction:
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, addressing their security concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Conduct regular site visits to client locations, ensuring security measures are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Staff Coordination and Roster Management:
- Draft and manage duty rosters for security officers, ensuring optimal coverage and addressing leave requests (vacation, sick, etc.).
- Monitor and support the progress and integration of new officers into their roles.
- Equipment and Reporting:
- Regularly inspect security equipment (e.g., radios, phones, logs) to ensure functionality and compliance.
- Submit detailed visit logs and weekly reports to senior management.
- Law Enforcement Liaison:
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies as required to enhance security operations and response.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management, including special assignments and projects.
KSA REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge: Proficient in the use of security equipment and technology.
Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, written and verbal, excellent interpersonal skills
Ability: Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Strong ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to organize and coordinate work activities. Ability to prioritize tasks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
- Working for extended periods of time commuting.
- Concentrating for an extended period of time driving.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Concentrating on reports which require hand/eye coordination.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs in the course of duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The position requires frequent travel to various client locations.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education/Training: Five (5) CXC Passes inclusive of Mathematic and English. Advanced education in Security Management/Operations will be a distinct asset.
Experience: At least five (5) years’ experience in the Security Services or Para-Military experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Certificates and Licenses: Computer literacy, Certificate in Supervisory Management is an asset. The Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
