The first and most important job of security is to man the front door in a friendly and courteous manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Entry Control: The first and most important job of security is to man the front door.  As part of the responsibility of that post, the security officer will execute the following in a friendly and courteous manner:

Station: Entrance Door

  1. Maintain entry control of Person into Reception area to ensure Social distancing protocols within Reception area
  2. Ensure Members/Guests line up in accordance with Social distancing protocols i.e. 6 ft apart while awaiting entry to Reception area
  3. Open door for every person to enter the premises.
  4. Restrict bags from entering clubs by facilitating bag placement on shelf for customers carrying bags.  Issue Bag identification no.
  5. Determine status of member or non-member asking the customer.   Provide non-members with personal information form and request that they complete prior to proceeding to Reception.  

The front door security officer must be aware of goings on in the parking lot, especially late at night and especially closing. Special attention should be paid to occupied vehicles parked in the vicinity after surrounding businesses closed.  (Take description and license plate numbers of suspicious vehicles and occupants).

Station: Internal Club Entrance

  1. Perform bag search of each member guest and employee prior to entry onto Casino Floor
  2. Ensure member/guest remove mask and show face to camera
  3. Ensure member/guest and employees sanitize hands before proceeding onto Casino Floor.

 Additional Responsibilities:

  • Security officers will SCAN ALL customers before they enter (or re-enter!) the establishment. 
  • Security officers must search all bags coming into the club whether they beep or not
  • Security officers will enforce dress code using discretion, trying not to alienate regular customers.  Refer all uncertainties to the Manager on duty
  • Security officers will note any suspicious guests and will notify the armed security officer
  • Security officers must remember the identities of all undesirables expelled from the club and prohibit their re-entry
  • At 1:00 AM a security officer will lock the glass door and will allow no one but a club security officer to permit passage either in or out of the club
  • At 4:00 AM a security officer will lock the front door and will permit exit but not entry into the club.  The officer must open the door and let each person out
  • At the end of the night, whichever security officer is stationed at the door will enter a brief report of the night’s incidents in the security logbook.  If no incident took place, that should be noted

 2. Patrol: If only one security officer is working the shift, that officer will stay posted at the front door.  If two are on the shift, the second will:

 Patrol the gaming floor looking for irregularities in guest or employee behavior, presence of undesirables, lost articles

  • Check bathrooms and other rooms at closing for remaining guests
  • Run credits and fills for the pit
  • Provide escorts for pit or slot personnel moving cash
  • Provide escorts for customers or personnel leaving the building with cash or at dangerous hours.
  • Direct guests to required services – bathrooms, bar etc.
  • Handle irate or potentially violent guests.
  • Expel guests from the club when requested by a Club or Pit manager

3. Relief: The patrolling officer should change with the front door officer every hour and should transfer any information pertinent to the work at that time.  The patrolling officer should never be stationary unless fulfilling one of the above responsibilities.  The strength of the patrol is in the customer not knowing where they will be.  This makes gaffing a machine or selling drugs in the bathroom much more difficult.

 4. Pre-opening: Before opening, the security officer on duty will:

  • Control entry into and out of the club maintaining the door locked except during deliveries when the officer will ensure that only authorized persons enter the club
  • The security officer may also, at their discretion, inspect bags and other packages leaving the premises
  • Inspect the premises for signs of any unusual activity – forced entry, vandalism, and mal-functioning equipment, lost or misplaced items
  • Assist Managers in whatever way necessary to expedite opening

 5. Customer Service:  Security Officers are part of our Customer Service Team and will as far as possible cordially greet and be courteous to persons with whom they interact

OTHER

All Security Officers are required to:

  • Report for duty at least 15 minutes before start of shift.
  • Stand for long periods
  • To bend, stoop, lift, push and carry heavy service trays
  • Keep all lines of communication open and professional
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and maintains a high level of confidentiality.
  • Should be well groomed, professionally attired and maintain high levels of personal hygiene at all times
  • Attend training and share knowledge with peers if required
  • Be prepared to work flexible/shift hours
  • Must be able to work in a smoker’s environment
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
