Job Summary:
Saba Comprehensive School is seeking a qualified and skilled Teacher Assistant for our Practical Education program (Praktijk Onderwijs – PrO). This full-time position requires an individual who is dedicated, organized, and capable of supporting both theoretical and practical classes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students, as well as independently when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the substitution of theoretical and practical classes.
- Support teachers by assisting groups of students and answering their questions.
- Provide homework support and additional academic assistance.
- Administer tests and assessments.
- Guide students in cross-curricular projects.
- Attend and contribute to a variety of meetings.
- Facilitate physical activities with students as part of their daily learning program.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Education, Vocational Training, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- Previous experience in a similar educational role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Enthusiasm for physical education and the ability to incorporate physical activities into the learning environment.

- A medical examination for admission to the pension fund.
- A copy of your obtained diplomas, which you can add to your application.
- If you obtained your diplomas in a country other than the Netherlands and/or the former Netherlands Antilles, we also request that you immediately add the DUO diploma evaluation.

- The salary is in US dollars, the official currency in the Caribbean Netherlands.
- The Caribbean Netherlands has its own tax regulations. Income above the tax-free amount ($20,424 in 2024) is taxed at a payroll tax rate of 30.4%.
- Participation in the pension fund is mandatory, including a personal contribution.
- You are or will become a resident of the Caribbean Netherlands.
