Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dutch teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have the necessary qualifications to teach Dutch to secondary school students across all grades, who have diverse range ability of the Dutch language (Levels A2, B1, B2). Students are in Lower Forms, Vocational, Academic and Praktijk Onderwijs (PrO) categories. As a Dutch teacher at Saba Comprehensive School, you will play a crucial role in fostering a love for the Dutch language and culture, while helping students achieve academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Dutch language lessons to students in grades 7-11.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure their success.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Dutch, with a specialization in Dutch as a foreign language (NVT).
- Teaching certification/license for secondary education.
- Proven experience teaching Dutch to secondary school students.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch language and literature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education or Dutch language.
- Experience teaching in an international or multicultural setting.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources, including Microsoft 365, Presentis, and other learning tools and resources.
- Experience with innovative and progressive teaching methods.

- The salary is in US dollars, the official currency in the Caribbean Netherlands.
- The Caribbean Netherlands has its own tax regulations. Income above the tax-free amount ($20,424 in 2024) is taxed at a payroll tax rate of 30.4%.
- Participation in the pension fund is mandatory, including a personal contribution.
