Sales Merchandizer are the key point of contact between an organisation and its clients: conduct sales, deliver and merchandize products, answer queries an solve problems, offer advice, introduce new products.

 

Sales Merchandizer initiates future growth and assist in shaping the direction of the organization, by enabling it to meet its goals through the customer relationships created by professional sales. He / She contributes to the company’s goal by promoting the products and services to customers selling with the aim of maximizing profits.

DETAILS OF FUNCTION

Key responsibilities:

  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers to generate new business for the organization’s products/services.
  • Sales and Order Taking: Actively sell products to customers on a regular basis, taking orders and ensuring accurate product selection based on customer needs. 
  • Customer Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers by addressing concerns, providing excellent service, and understanding their buying patterns. 
  • Merchandising and Display: Routinely display products in customer stores to promote sales and visibility. 
  • Payment Collection: Collect payments from customers according to company policies. 
  • Sales Reporting and Analysis: Track sales performance, identify trends, and submit regular reports to management. 
  • Problem Solving: Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively, including product returns or delivery discrepancies. 
  • Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Do comparative analysis on competitors’ products
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team
  • Participates in trade shows and conventions as required.
  • Any other responsibility as assigned by the company.

REPORTING

Reports directly to the Manager Sales & Marketing or the assigned person.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must possess at least 3 years’ experience dealing with retailers (supermarkets, hardwares, electrical stores) and corporate customers.  
  2. Possession of a post-secondary qualification with a sound understanding of electrical, lighting and solar etc components.
  3. Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
  4. Must be results-orientated, able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  5. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
  6. Numerical and IT Skills is mandatory.
  7. Demonstrated Commercial Awareness, Maturity, Confidence, Patience and Perseverance.
  8. Valid Driver’s license – a heavy T will be a major asset.
