To supervise all aspects of the business associated with the merchandising team and delivery and/or break out of trade promotions; develop and implement the routing plan in conjunction with the Regional Manager in order to achieve the organization’s objectives.

JOB SUMMARY                                                                              

To supervise all aspects of the business associated with the merchandising team and delivery and/or break out of trade promotions; develop and implement the routing plan in conjunction with the Regional Manager in order to achieve the organization’s objectives; being one of the primary on-the-ground liaisons between the company and the trade on matters relating to merchandizing, sales and in-store supervision as well as responsibility for developing that relationship.  Provide coaching and development to improve capabilities of the merchandising team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop effective work relationships with customers, Sales Representatives and Merchandisers.
  • Monitor merchandisers and overall team performance.
  • Monitor the implementation of in-store promotions.
  • Assist Sales Representatives with orders and monthly collections
  • Identify new opportunities within the trade to expand by opening new accounts
  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Assist Sales Representatives in maintaining a clean trial balance
  • Liaison with the customer service team to ensure that orders are being processed in a timely manner
  • Follow-up with the logistics team to ensure that orders are sent out and delivered in a timely manner 
  • Monitor competition for new products/strategies and potential threats.
  • Provide feedback to sales and marketing team on consumer activities in a timely manner.
  • Develop in-store strategies as it relates to shelf layouts, point-of-sale placements, and principal planograms usage.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence through the supervision of merchandising team
  • Establish and manage KPIs for the merchandising team.
  • Ensure that each merchandiser understands and follows the Merchandiser’s Work Instructions on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that each merchandiser adheres to the policies and guidelines governing merchandising activities.
  • Work in conjunction with Brand Managers to execute trade/consumer promotions.
  • Assist the sales team in becoming the preferred supplier and/or category champion for key customer.
  • Identify and communicate individual store problems and opportunities to the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Identify and report opportunities for new product growth as well as increase business efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for gondola, floor and end cap displays while maximizing product facings to stimulate shelf off-take.
  • Assist in trade promotions activities.
  • Report and respond in a timely manner to competitor activities deemed threatening to Facey Commodity Co. Ltd.
  • Provide the marketing team with brand visibility, product position and shelf space utilization.
  • Provide monthly report to Regional Sales Manager, Trade Market Manager and marketing team by the fifth working day of each month.
  • Conduct routine POS drives.
  • Assist the Sales Representative and Sales Supervisor in securing placements for racks and other special displays.
  • Monitor, measure, and manage the brand equity in the region. 
  • Increase brand awareness, relevant differentiation, value, accessibility, and emotional connection.
  • Develop and monitor progress of a brand plan execution.
  • Maintain consistency throughout the region.
  • Provide feedback and reports from the region to the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Provide support in planning, executing and feedback of brand executions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of working in a merchandising, marketing or sales role
  • Own a licensed and insured vehicle for use in the role

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to understand customer/consumer trends
  • Manage relationships with all internal and external customers
  • Excellent Time Management and Customer Service Skills.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and creativity.
  • Detail oriented, pays keen attention to accuracy.
  • Must be able to function independently and handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure.
