We are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position at The Naughty Grape Retail Store 

SALES ASSOCIATE

This role will be required to provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for customers / guests at the Store, assisting the Store Supervisor with administrative duties to ensure a smooth store operation. 

Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Delivers first class service to customers including greeting, in-store guidance, purchase suggestions, packing of purchases, vehicle loading and resolution of any issues
  • Maintains strong knowledge of all products and its related pricing
  • Receives payments for sales transactions, including charge customer orders, and provides customers with accurate receipt and change
  • Answers the telephone, responding to enquiries, taking orders and directing calls accordingly, following up to completion
  • Assists with recording liquor licenses and filing paperwork as required
  • Monitors the delivery of customer orders and keeps customers informed in case of delays
  • Rotates stock regularly, positioning products to minimize expiration costs and report all products nearing expiration date to appropriate Supervisor
  • Receives product transfers from the Distribution Centre / third party suppliers into stock rooms, ensuring consistency with transfer/delivery documentation.
  • Monitors shelf stock levels, reports stock outs to Supervisor, and follows up to ensure items are replenished in a timely manner
  • Assists with weekly cycle counts on key product categories reporting results to the Retail Services Supervisor
  • Scans items weekly in an effort to ensure that prices are accurate and barcodes are readable, updating Store Supervisor of any issues as they arise. 
  • Balances daily cash transactions and prepares bank deposits as required
  • Prepares summary sheet and daily delivery order for submission to Accounts Department as required
  • Assists with general housekeeping (sweeping, mopping and removal of garbage) and maintains the shop floor by dusting shelves & product
  • Delivers orders to customers and accepts payments, as required
  • Assists with administrative functions as required

Knowledge & Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) CXC passes, including Mathematics and English
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a retail sales environment
  • Post-Secondary Certification or Diploma would be an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
