SYSTEM ANALYST

JOB PURPOSE:

• Support organizational needs and activities to maximize member service and operational standards and minimize costs.   
• Facilitate management decision-making by providing relevant and timely information and recommendations

Some Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensure the adequate operation of the company’s accounting and management system including the equipment and data integrity.
2. Provide users with technical support for computer related problems. Provide training and guidance for users of hardware and software as needed.
3. Manage system and data security by appropriate back-up and recovery procedures and tests, including Disaster Recovery.
4. Conduct regular hardware maintenance and monitor servers for optimum performance, inclusive of updates, cleaning and organizing.
5. Identify, report and manage system related risks, recommend and develop operational procedures to mitigate all risks identified.
6. Identify hardware and software needs and make recommendations for procurement.
7.  Manage the Credit Union’s service providers continuously to maintain optimal system performance, changes and program updates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering
• Experience in IT or database administration a plus
• Experience with Java GUI front-end development, SQL, Postgres, or equivalent database tools
• Experience with Agile software development using JIRA
• Experience with Zeek (formerly Bro)
• Experience in: Multiple OS platforms with strong emphasis on Linux (CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu), Mac OS X, and Windows systems
• Experience with OS-level scripting environment, such as Bourne shell
• Experience working in a research environment that relies extensively on Open Source solutions.
• Experience with AS400 Systems and Query Writing
