Continental Baking Company Limited is seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant – Accounts Payables, who will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payables function, as well as providing general support to the preparation of the Company’s monthly financial reports and statements.
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - ACCOUNTS PAYABLES
Continental Baking Company Limited is seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant – Accounts Payables, who will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payables function, as well as providing general support to the preparation of the Company’s monthly financial reports and statements.
Core Functions
- Manage the accounts payable function (local and foreign suppliers).
- Ensure monthly reconciliation of supplier statements, as well as of the Accounts Payables sub-ledger with General Ledger.
- Ensure monthly expenses are captured via the accrual process and monthly journals are posted in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the timely preparation and filing of statutory returns in accordance with government regulations.
- Responsible for the analysis of assigned General Ledger accounts within the specified time.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, monthly financial reporting and analysis and external audit process.
- Maintain proper documentation, record keeping and support for financial transactions.
- Provide support to other members of the accounting team, as required.
Minimum Requirement: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Studies, Business Administration or its equivalent or have attained a minimum of Level 2 of the ACCA designation.
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a senior accounting role; expert knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
- Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems/software, experience with Oracle ERP would be an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with strong emphasis on Excel.
- Mature and responsible individual with strong initiative, analytical skills and judgment to handle assignments independently.
- Demonstrates a high level of customer relations skills with both internal and external customers.
- Excellent human relations, communication (oral and written), time management, organizational, critical thinking, documentation and problem solving skills.
- Highly professional, confidential, ethical and of integrity.
- May be required to work on weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands.
