SECURITIES OFFICER

The Jamaica Central Securities Depository, a subsidiary of the Jamaica Stock Exchange seeks to identify a highly motivated professional to fill the position of SECURITIES OFFICER for its subsidiary, the JCSD Trustee Services Ltd. 

Reporting to the Manager – JCSD Trustee Services, the responsibilities of the Securities Officer will include (but are not limited to):

1. Maintaining the record of all collateral and collateral documents lodged with the JCSDTS for all transactions.
2. Monitoring and provide weekly reports on the status and/or value of the securities.
3. Liaising with external professionals for the appraisal, valuation, maintenance, upgrade, developments and/or securitization of assets transferred to the JCSDTS in Trust.
4. Opening reserve accounts, monitor and reconcile all reserve accounts established and held in Trust.
5. Monitoring performance of Financial Covenants in respect of bonds and collateral instruments.
6. Monitoring the release and discharge of collateral instruments
7. Reviewing all collateral instrument and documents to ensure appropriate registration with the relevant authorities to be perfected.
8. Ensuring timely and effective communication to the Manager and/or External parties of material changes in the nature and/or status of the assets.
9. Overseeing and ensuring the monthly reconciliation of all Debt Reserve accounts for each product as required.
10. Liaising with JCSD to reconcile and maintain an accurate record of shares pledged in its system with the record maintained by the JCSD Trustee Services Limited.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• BSc in Financial Management or its equivalent
• At least three (3) years’ experience in the securities industry in the management of Property and
• other forms of security assets.
• a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Trust Operations
• Diploma certificate in real estate is a significant advantage.
• Experience interpreting financial statements would be an asset

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

• In-depth knowledge of different types of Security assets used as collateral in the financial markets
• Working knowledge of the recording, monitoring and analysis of security assets
• Working knowledge of The Securities Acts and the Trust and Corporate Services Providers Act
• Knowledge of Stock Exchange and JCSD Rules & Regulations
• Functional knowledge of the duties of a Custodian obligations

• Sound knowledge of the operations of Collateral securities registration with Companies Office, Securities Interest in Personal Properties, Assets and others
• Working knowledge of the Procurement principles
