The incumbent is required to market and sell the company's products by retaining and attracting customers; delivery of exceptional customer service and relationship skills.

 

Responsibilities Summary

  • Demonstrate consistent ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with all assigned customers within the territory. 
  • Candidate should possess effective negotiation and product knowledge to meet agreed sales targets. 
  • Prepare accurate quotations based on requests from customers to increase product sales.
  • Ensure routine monitoring of inventories to satisfy customers when processing orders.
  • Prepare and present a sales report on time showing performance by source, competitors’ activities, and strategic client base expansion initiatives.
  • Provide market intelligence on competition and make recommendations aimed at maintaining competitive advantage.
  • Communicate timely updates to inform customers of price changes, product shortages or changes in delivery schedule.
  • Demonstrate the ability to pursue after-sales service and negotiations, especially with cash collections.
  • Timely collection and deposit of payments from customers to the Accounting Department in line with corporate objectives.
  • Maintains accurate records of all sale activities within assigned areas.
  • Conduct weekly visits to customers' establishments to maintain and strengthen relationships and advise on product handling and storage.
  • Ensure credit and debit notes are correctly written and submitted on time.
  • Assists in the implementation of Marketing initiatives and promotional plans.
  • Develop knowledge of merchandising, product/(promotions) staging, and pricing strategy.
  • Participate in local trade shows and promotional/networking events.

 

Requirements

  • Diploma in Sales/Marketing Management
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite re: PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Basic Accounting knowledge, especially inventory management
  • Knowledgeable in frozen, chill, and dry food products
  • Extensive experience in relationship management
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Excellent communication skills and persuasive with sound negotiation skills
  • Flexible, results-oriented and solution-oriented
  • Excellent customer-focused
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Works well under pressure
  • Predisposed towards continuous development in product knowledge
