Provide food and beverage service to club members and guests and at tournaments and private events.
Education/Experience:
Completed High School up to at least Form five.
18 years of age or older
The ability to read, write, and execute basic math skills.
Prior banquet & wait service experience is preferred.
Valid Driver’s Permit will be an asset.
Job Knowledge/Core Competencies & Expectations:
Greet and acknowledge members and guests.
Knowledgeable of Café and buffet menus and drinks lists.
Learns members’ names and their special preferences.
Complies with basic safety and sanitation requirements.
Basic knowledge of POS systems and cashing experience.
Basic knowledge of wines and spirits.
Knowledgeable of all aspects of the F&B department and daily club operations, including events and operating hours.
Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during very busy and dynamic periods, and emergencies.
Job Tasks/Duties:
Sets up prep station and performs assigned prep work.
Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating.
Answers questions from members and guests and suggests menu items.
Ensure that correct account numbers and names are given for billing.
Learn the club’s POS system and use it efficiently and correctly.
Efficiently serves food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner and offers suggestions on menu and drink specials.
Places orders with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instructions.
Assembles food on trays; procures items for each station as necessary.
Serves meals to each person.
Checks to ensure member and guest satisfaction; replenishes water and condiments as necessary.
Removes soiled dishes. Clears tables after each course and resets them with appropriate silverware.
Verifies accuracy of prices, tips, and other charges on all bills.
Present the bills to members and guests.
Handles all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
Keep dining areas and bus station areas clean.
Clears, cleans, and resets tables that have been vacated.
Advises management of any complaints as soon as they occur.
Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
Attends meetings as requested by manager.
Performs banquet set-up tasks.
Assists in closing functions for banquets or special events such as removing linens, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and resetting dining areas.
Consistently follows all food safety-related requirements.
Performs other appropriate duties assigned by manager.
