Job Description
The Responsible Gaming Coordinator will develop, manage, and evaluate responsible gambling programs within Trinidad and Tobago’s gaming and betting industry. The role involves researching, designing, and coordinating initiatives aimed at preventing, educating, and treating compulsive and problem gambling, in collaboration with relevant service providers and stakeholders. The Responsible Gaming Coordinator will ensure all programs comply with applicable laws and align with the Commission's policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Law, Social Science, Social Work, Psychology or a related field from a recognised institution
Master’s Degree or Postgraduate would be considered an asset
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in responsible behaviour and crisis management
Experience in a relevant position in gambling (gaming & betting), dealing with problematic behaviour or addictions in similar sectors, would be an asset
Specialist knowledge of the relevant Acts, laws, regulations and policies that apply to those with specific experience in gambling preferred.
Specialist knowledge of addiction psychology, behavioural patterns related to gambling addiction, and the application of data analytics to these areas
Substantial/ In-depth of knowledge of counselling and treatment techniques related to addiction and behavioural change
Key Accountabilities:
Reviews the compulsive gambling plans and procedures of all gambling operators to ensure that the plans and procedures comply with the minimum requirements of the Act and the Commission’s rules regarding compulsive, problem, self-excluded, intoxicated and underage gambling.
Monitors the implementation of responsible gambling policies/ procedures/ standards by clients on a continuous basis to ensure proper implementation and administration in every material aspect of gambling operations.
Designs legislative and communication strategies for remedial efforts on the socio-economic impacts of gambling (especially problem gambling).
Oversees and monitors the dissemination of funds for the Commission's Responsible Gambling Programmes, including Compulsive and Problem Gambling initiatives.
Promotes the activities of the Commission, its programs, and its goals to ensure that the Commission’s objectives align with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and codes of ethics.
