The Residential Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the dormitory ensuring proper maintenance of the facility and compliance to the standards for trainees’ dorm living consistent with the residential policy residential contract, trainee handbook and other relevant guidelines. The Residential Supervisor is also responsible for provides support to the administrative and operational staff of the dormitory and maintaining a safe, secure, non-discriminatory positive dorm atmosphere for the residents.

 ** Candidate is required to reside on property **

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

ü  NVQ-J Level 5 Certification or Bachelor of Science degree in disciplines such as Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or equivalent

ü  At least two (2) years’ relevant work experience in a comparable position in a work environment such as a residential facility for At-Risk youth

KEY COMPETENCIES:

ü  Supervisory Management skills

ü  Sound knowledge of human resources and employee relations practices and procedure

ü  Knowledge of crisis management techniques and practices

ü  Knowledge of counselling, mediation, coaching and other therapeutic techniques

KEY DUTIES:

ü  Conducts mobilization and coordination of resources for effective allocation

ü  Collaborates with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure proper Maintenance of the residential facilities

ü  Develops protocols and guidelines for the movement of residents outside of training hours and throughout the residential periods

ü  Assists with the development of capacity building and recreational programmes for trainee involvement

ü  Coordinates residential programmes to include policy sensitization sessions

ü  Develops internal controls to ensure accountability of trainees

ü  Reviews systems and procedures for the successful operation and management of the residential facility

ü  Ensures residential capacity is met consistent with quality assurance policies, standards and procedures and public health regulations

ü  Supervises and supports Orientation programmes for dorm residents

ü  Monitors schedule of residential programmes

ü  Intervenes in crisis situations consistent with OSH policies and programmes to ensure safety of dorm residents; assume lead role when intervention involves use of physical containment

ü  Provides support to relevant staff to facilitate appropriate counselling or disciplinary action when necessary

ü  Supports and monitors the engagement of trainees within the Training Based Enterprise

ü  Prepares and submits operational and technical reports

ü  Coordinates and monitors the supervision of meal distribution

ü  Reviews approval systems and processes and make recommendations for improvement
