Continental Baking Company Limited is seeking to recruit Relief Salesmen who will be responsible to maximize sales to customers through strong relationships, good business practices that drive profitable sales growth and provide supplementary sales-related service that exceeds our customers’ expectations.

Core Functions

• Maximize and grow sales by ordering and delivering freshly baked products daily, on time and in full, whilst meeting or surpassing budgetary expectations for the assigned route.
• Analyze trends, compare orders versus sales and maintain accurate and consistent records of stock levels for each account via route cards.
• Conduct route and account call-backs as required, to replenish shelves to ensure sales maximization.
• Maintain correct customer database at all times to ensure route/sales efficiency and effectiveness.
• Identify growth opportunities by prospecting for new customers, increasing share of shelf, recommending promotional activities and identifying sales leads on assigned route.
• Ensure accurate inventory is maintained on route and truck stock levels are kept within the pre-established limits.
• Introduce new products launched to route customers within the specified timeline, to maximize sales, typically guided by the sales/order cycle for the existing accounts and when soliciting new customers.
• Prepare orders via order management tool on handheld device that reflect route/market demands and changes.
• Conduct daily balancing/settlement of account per sales accounting guidelines to account for all invoices, products, deposits and cash.
• Perform functions as duly designated by Route Auditor or Sales Manager.

Minimum Requirements: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Three (3) CXC/GCE Ordinary Level subject passes including Mathematics and English Language.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in route sales.
• Must be 24 years of age or older.
• A valid General Driver’s Licence of 7000KG or higher is required.
• Must have a good driving record.
• A valid Food Handlers’ Permit is required.
• Detail oriented, excellent human relations, communication, time management, organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Highly professional, ethical and of integrity.
• Will be required to work on weekends to meet operational demands.
