Relationship Manager

Supervision and Regulation, the Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of entities, ensuring that the registrants in the portfolio are adequately supervised and regulated in accordance with FSC’s policies, national legislation and international requirements.

Our Client, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) is an integrated regulatory body established on April 1, 2011 by virtue of the Financial Services Commission Act (2010).  It is charged with the responsibility for supervising and regulating non-bank financial institutions in Barbados, particularly those entities in the insurance, credit union, securities and occupational pensions sectors.

The FSC is seeking to find suitably qualified talent to join its growing team of professionals, in the position of Relationship Manager.

Relationship Manager – Supervision and Regulation

The Role

Reporting to the Director – Supervision and Regulation, the Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of entities, ensuring that the registrants in the portfolio are adequately supervised and regulated in accordance with FSC’s policies, national legislation and international requirements. The post will lead a team of Analysts and Senior Analysts.

• Leads the development and conduct of risk-based reviews/assessments.
• Develops an annual supervisory programme for entities within the portfolio.

• Manages the relationships with registrants in the assigned portfolio.
• Ensures the ongoing monitoring and risk evaluation of all institutions within the portfolio and manages any emerging concerns, providing sound recommendations and oversight of the implementation of effective corrective or enforcement actions.

The Candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or equivalent qualification with at least five years’ supervisory experience.
• A minimum of seven years’ regulation and supervision experience.
• Sound knowledge of insurance, pensions, credit unions and securities.
