Job Summary: As a Personal Independence Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with independence rules and regulations. You will provide basic guidance to field professionals on firm policy and regulatory rules, perform technical research, and handle various tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures. This position requires limited judgment and offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities:

• Provide introductory guidance to field professionals on professional independence standards and firm policy.
• ​Conduct basic independence technical research to support task execution.
• ​Resolve customer inquiries via Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
• ​Participate in team information exchanges and input data into SharePoint and Broker Import System.
• ​Review documents such as Account Statements, Client Authorization Forms, and Questionnaires for compliance with Independence Policy.
• ​Assist with special projects and perform multiple time-sensitive tasks as needed.
  

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business from an accredited college or university.
• ​2+ years of work experience in a public accounting firm.
• Knowledge of independence compliance rules and regulations.
• ​Accounting/Finance knowledge.
• ​Highly organized with the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
• ​Strong business and data analysis, critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and independent judgment skills.
• ​Experience handling time-sensitive requests.
  

Special Conditions:

• Work in a fast-paced team environment.
• ​Operate primarily in a paperless environment using information systems for data access and activities.
• ​May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays.
