The Nurse is responsible for providing support to the Medical Practitioners in their duties, as well as performing routine health care practices, including advising and counselling. The incumbent also ensures the maintenance of accurate records of patients’ medical history and any other administrative function in respect of the staff and students at the University.
Requirements:
The preferred applicant should have:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with Midwifery or a Certificate/Diploma in Nursing with Midwifery/Public Health Certification,
- at least five (5) years’ experience in a similar post
- Registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica
Additional Requirements:
The candidate should have good knowledge of the laws, codes and regulations governing health care delivery, nursing theory, principles and techniques, public health nursing practices, interviewing techniques and medical data collection, patient care, treatment, planning and assessment, use and care of basic medical equipment; excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
