Regional Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) Analyst (3 Year Contract)

 

This position is based in St. Lucia

 

General Accountability

The Regional CIS Analyst is responsible for providing critical technical and operational support to the Regional CIS Manager. Activities may include: Developing Regional economic and capital market forecasts for the Eastern Caribbean; assisting with the development of strategic plans to foster the growth and development of UTC Fund Management Services STL Limited (UTC FMS) and UTC Global Balanced Fund Limited; assisting with the maintenance and management of the operational, legal and regulatory framework of UTC FMS; and providing support in the execution and monitoring of selected strategic partnership opportunities for UTC FMS.

 

Key Responsibilities

Develop Regional Economic and Capital Market Forecasts.

  • Formulate economic themes and scenarios for regional economies to assist with the growth and development of UTC Fund Management Services STL Limited (UTC FMS) and related investment companies

 

Assist with Strategic Planning for UTC FMS and UTC Global Balanced Fund Limited

  • Assist the Regional CIS Manager develop Strategic Plans to grow and develop UTC FMS and UTC Global Balanced Fund Limited.

 

Assist with the management of the Operational Framework for UTC FMS.

  • Assist the Regional CIS Manager with the establishment and maintenance of an effective operational framework for the day-to-day business of UTC FMS.

 

Assist with the maintenance of a fully compliant business framework for UTC FMS from a legal and regulatory perspective.

  • Assist the Regional CIS Manager in the maintenance of a business framework for UTC FMS that is fully compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.

 

Assist with the management of the Distribution Network of UTC FMS.

  • Assist the Regional CIS Manager in the task of ensuring a solid, cohesive distribution network between UTC FMS and the distributors of UTC Global Balanced Fund Limited across the Eastern Caribbean. The network of distributors will comprise Broker-Dealers duly-licensed by the Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission (ECSRC).
  • Assisting with the development of new distribution strategies to ensure increased profitability of UTC FMS in these operations.
  • Preparing statistics and reports on distributor operations

 

Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders in the development of policies and procedures for the business.

  • Ensuring that policies and procedures are relevant and kept up to date

 

Preparation of marketing proposals and recommendations

  • Assist in the preparation of marketing proposals aimed at attracting new distributors.

 

Monitor the payment of Fund-related Fees including those for Broker-Dealers, Custodian, Investment Advisor and Fund Manager 

  • Assist with managing fee payment system.
  • Assist with addressing queries relating to fees paid to any UTC FMS counterparty

 

Arranging meetings with counterparties

  • Assist with organising meetings with UTC FMS counterparties to provide updates and discuss issues pertinent to customer service (internal/external) or other matters.
  • Collaborating with UTC FMS internal stakeholders and external parties to resolve issues.

 

Assist in ensuring that the CIS complies with operational and investment policy and objectives by:

    • ensuring the administration and settlement of CIS transactions
    • reporting on investment performance to the Board of Directors
    • confirming trades with brokers and counterparties
    • ensuring the accurate and timely calculation of the Net Asset Value of the CIS
    • ensuring the accurate and timely maintenance of the Shareholders’ Register
    • ensuring the transfer of securities of the CIS
    • computing the management fees and distributions
    • ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of Financial Statements for the CIS and the Fund Management company

 

Assist the Regional CIS Manager with general strategic or administrative duties.

  • Prepare and/or review ad-hoc reports / notes / presentations as determined by the Regional CIS Manager.

The selected candidate must possess the following combination of qualifications, skills, training and experience:

  • A First Degree in a relevant field from an accredited tertiary institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position within the financial industry
  • Three (3) years’ supervisory experience

OR

  • A Diploma in a relevant field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in a similar position within the financial industry
  • Four (4) years’ supervisory experience
  • Suitable combination of training and experience

Applicant must be a citizen of a protocol Member State in the economic union area of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) or possess the requisite documentation to work legally therein.
