The Regional Auditor is responsible for conducting Audits of employers’ payroll and other related records, establishing revenue targets and monitoring employers’ compliance with 3% HEART contributions in accordance with the HEART Act.
The Regional Auditor is responsible for conducting Audits of employers’ payroll and other related records, establishing revenue targets and monitoring employers’ compliance with 3% HEART contributions in accordance with the HEART Act. The incumbent conducts other activities to promote awareness of the requirements of the Act among new and existing employers to enhance voluntary compliance.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
ü NVQ-J Level 5 Certification or Bachelors Degree in disciplines such as: Audit, Accounting or Finance or ACCA, CPA, Bachelors Degree or the equivalent
ü At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience in a comparable position and business/work environment

ü Knowledge of Corporate Governance and Jamaican Tax laws
ü Excellent Negotiation and Investigative skills
ü Good Decision-making and Technical skills
KEY DUTIES:
ü Plans, organises and executes Compliance Audits
ü Conducts research and investigation of employers on and off the Tax roll
ü Conducts pre-audit interviews with stakeholders such as Tax Administration of Jamaica (TAJ), National Insurance Scheme (NIS), National Housing Trust (NHT) and Taxpayers
ü Audits Contributors’ records to determine liability
ü Negotiates and prepares payment agreement
ü Prepares audit worksheets
ü Represents the Organisation in Court, if required
ü Educates employers on eligibility to make contributions
ü Participates in the preparation of the Revenue Forecasting
ü Prepares accurate Audit papers and ensure compliance with established procedures
ü Prepares Audits, Audits Working Papers and Reports to meet reporting deadlines
ü Understands and analyses Taxpayers Account on the Management Information System (MIS) from Tax Administration Jamaica (RAiS)
