TITLE:                    Reconciliation Clerk

REPORTS TO:         Accountant

LOCATION:             Port of Spain

TYPE:                     Full-Time, Permanent


POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Accountant, the Reconciliation Clerk will be responsible for providing financial and administrative services in an effective and efficient manner. The role will be responsible for performing various reconciliations and general ledger checks along with identifying discrepancies, resolving issues and maintaining accurate financial records.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reconcile Loan Receivable general ledger accounts and magna rewards receivable monthly.
  • Reconcile Inter-Company balances weekly/monthly.
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR) and Inventory general ledgers to sub-ledgers monthly.
  • Review of general ledger transaction entries to ensure proper account coding classifications monthly.
  • Enter all payroll journals including but not limited to Salaries, Wages, PAYE, NIS and H/S as required.
  • Investigate, report and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities as required.
  • Download all Bank Statements and Credit Card Statements as they become available on the banks' online system.
  • Perform Bank Reconciliations monthly and enter all general ledger adjusting entries.
  • Ensure all bank clearing accounts are reconciled and discrepancies addressed and resolved with the respective banks/internal team within seven (7) days.
  • Perform Credit Card Reconciliations monthly according to each banks' cycle/due date.
  • Reconcile and reimburse Petty Cash and Branch Floats weekly/as required.
  • Assist with year-end audit working papers inclusive of schedules yearly.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Experience

  • Completed ACCA Level 1 or CAT
  • Five (5) CXC O’Level passes, including Math and English A
  • Minimum of two (2) years general accounting experience
  • Proficiency in the use of Accounting Software
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment of change
