The Relief Pharmacist gives professional advice on various medications, cosmetics and para pharmaceuticals; provides expertise and willingness to assist people with information and solutions; interpret patient symptoms referred to the suitable doctor.

  1. Review and execute physician’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality.
  2. Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice, ensuring the total customer experience throughout the store.
  3. Ensure employees achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and solving customer problems in a timely manner.
  4. Provide assistance other medical services such as injections, blood pressure/ temperature measurements etc.
  5. Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient.
  6. Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding heavy medication.
  7. Oversee and monitor employee productivity, providing constructive feedback, coaching and development.
  8. Foster continuous improvement by streamlining processes to improve efficiencies and quality of work.
  9. Keep abreast of advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
  10. Perform all duties within applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice.
  11. Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures.
  12. Perform any other related duties as required by the job function.

 

Minimum Education and Qualifications

  1. A University degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology from a recognised institution.
  2. Current practice certificate and registration with Pharmacy Board of Trinidad and Tobago.

 

Experience

  1. At least 2 years’ working experience.

 

Or any equivalent combination of qualification and experience

  5. Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc.
  6. Ability to display decisiveness in decision making backed by logic, gut instinct and personal responsibility.
  7. Working knowledge of MS Office and Pharmacy information systems.
Ability to work on afternoons, weekends and public holidays as required.
