REGISTRY (ADMISSION’S) OFFICER
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the University Registrar/Admissions Manager, the Admissions Officer will be
responsible for coordinating and providing administrative support functions for the Admission’s unit of
the Registry Department. This position is also required to provide assistance in the Records Unit as
required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist with the processing and coordination of student information which involves:
2. Process applications and prepare acceptance letters and submit for approval as per policy
guidelines.
3. Process transcript reviews, exemptions, advanced standing, transfers, deferrals and other
documents and submit for approval as per policy guidelines.
4. Update Student Management Information System with all pertinent student data according to
standard procedures.
5. Package letters and documents and process for distribution.
6. Collate the necessary data required for the generation of standard and ad hoc reports as
required.
7. Assist the University Registrar and the Admissions Manager with the coordination of all
admissions related activities.
8. Assist in training required staff in Admissions related functions and processes.
9. Perform customer service related activities (within the scope of the position authority,
escalating matters as may be required) regarding application processing, entry requirements,
collection of packages and any other general responses to registry related queries via the
following medium:
10. May be assigned responsibility for special projects and or processing groups as required.
11. Assist with the preparation and distribution of Official Document Requests (ODRs) as required.
12. Any other duty consistent with the general level, nature and function of the job.
