The incumbent is responsible for the efficient and effective planning, organizing and management of the operations of the Engineering Department to ensure the optimum utilization and availability of all equipment and associated devices across all NCRHA facilities.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA):
REGIONAL MANAGER, ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL, CIVIL AND PLANT
The incumbent is responsible for the efficient and effective planning, organizing and management of the operations of the Engineering Department to ensure the optimum utilization and availability of all equipment and associated devices across all NCRHA facilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Identifies the department’s goals, objectives and priorities.
- Develops and maintain organizational systems for the effective performance and smooth delivery of all Engineering preventative maintenance and support services (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing).
- Develops and reviews policies and procedures relevant to the Engineering Department.
- Co-ordinates the developments of and ensures the maintenance of a Support system within established international standards.
- Reviews maintenance schedules developed by senior Engineering staff for planned preventative Engineering Department.
- Advises on and develops engineering equipment specifications and standards for the Institution.
- Organizes training workshops and seminars on the proper use and maintenance of equipment under the department’s control.
- Ensures enforcement or Health and Safety regulations in accordance with local and international standards.
- Coordinates all activities within the Engineering Department such that there is an efficient and effective utilization of staff and all other resources.
- Assists in the selection and induction of staff of the Engineering Department
- Establishes protocols for operations to facilitate accountability, and the efficient and effective operations of the equipment and staff within the Authority.
- Develops appropriate performance standards and undertake performance appraisals of subordinates.
- Member of NCRHA Committees as appointed by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) or the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
- Prepares departmental budgets, including staff projections.
- Any other related duties as required by the COO or CEO.
- Assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of organizational systems established for the management of the Authority technical support service ( Technical Service, Engineering, Special Projects, the Authority Environmental Maintenance).
Minimum Qualification, Requirements and Experience:
- The incumbent must have a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University with knowledge of Mechanical, Civil and Plant Engineering.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Facility Management or health service Management will be considered an asset.
- At least ten (10) years relevant experience of which five (5) must be at a senior management level.
*Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed programme is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago.*
