The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. You will work closely with the project team to ensure value for money, monitor project costs, and ensure that all work is carried out in line with contractual and legal obligations.
Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
Manage project finances including progress valuations, final accounts, and cost reporting.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
Liaise with contractors, suppliers, clients, and project managers.
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
Monitor and control cost variations throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Certify subcontractor payments and manage procurement.
Ensure compliance with all contract terms and relevant legal regulations.
Provide regular financial reports and updates to management.
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction processes, cost control, and contract law.
Proficiency in MS Excel and QS software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, BuildSoft, etc.)
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
RICS accreditation or working towards it is a plus.
Experience in both residential and commercial construction projects.
Familiarity with Jamaican construction codes and procurement regulations.
