OVERVIEW:

KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named "Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)" operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide office support to its member firm KPMG United States ("the Client"). 

JOB SUMMARY: 

The person is responsible for establishing strong professional relationships with onshore team members, undertaking projects independently or assisting in larger assignments, and monitoring KPIs, team utilization, and quality. They will maintain a strong governance model with stakeholders, manage client risk assessments, and stabilize new processes through continuous evaluation. 

The role also involves identifying process improvement ideas, using various databases for risk analysis, and comprehending regulations and international guidelines related to sanction lists. An excellent understanding of adverse media, Politically Exposed Persons, and high-risk jurisdictions is essential.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Service delivery

•Establish strong professional relationships with onshore team members through meetings or interactions.
•Monitor and take ownership of KPIs, team’s utilization, quality and maintain strong governance model with stakeholders.
•Supervise and manage all tasks related to client risk assessment or the scope of work agreed with the “Client”.
•Play active role in stabilizing the new process and perform continuous evaluation of procedures, process, and workflow.
•Proactively identify process improvement ideas and encourage team to challenge status quo.
•Use databases which includes corporate registries, company websites, regulatory websites, stock exchanges, litigation databases, news aggregators etc.
•Comprehend and articulate risk based on a strong knowledge of regulations and international guidelines related to sanction list.
•Manage queries and escalation from day-to-day work and work closely with the Client.
•Ability to work on complex and enhanced due diligence requests while ensuring quality.
•Perform quality review wherever needed.
•Deliver feedback and undertake performance appraisal.
•Ability to motivate and prepare the team for upcoming projects or peaks.
•Undertake projects independently or assist in larger assignments while reporting to a manager or senior manager.


Stakeholder Relationship Management 
•Key point of contact for Client’s stakeholders to collaborate on all aspects of service delivery
•Proactively identify and escalate issues to KJESS Manager, and recommend corrective action in a timely manner
•Cultivate productive relationships between local and Client’s teams’
•Effectively communicate with the Client to understand any changes to the Client’s departmental policies, processes, and procedures, and implement affected changes


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from an accredited college/university or any other related field 
•A minimum of 5 years work experience preferably in risk management or financial management.
•Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and/or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMI) Certification is preferred
•Excellent understanding on adverse/negative media, Politically Exposed Persons and thorough understanding on high risk or sanctioned countries is a plus.
•Excellent understanding on jurisdiction risk as well as industry risk is a plus.
•Solid verbal/written communication, problem-solving, research, analytical, and independent judgement skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork.
•Ability to work independently and work well within a team.
•Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adhere to deadlines.
•Detail-oriented and thorough, with effective time management skills. 
•Ability to build relationships and credibility with numerous constituents.
•Proficient in MS Office Suite.


SPECIAL CONDITIONS

•Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment.
•Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities.
•May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays.
