The Quality Control (QC) Manager will be responsible for all Quality Control operations within the company’s food manufacturing facilities, ensuring the consistent production of high-quality, safe, and compliant products that align with our customers' expectations.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Management of the Quality Control functions throughout the entire production process which includes receival and storage of all raw materials (fruits, milk, concentrates, packaging, etc.), processing (blending, homogenizing, pasteurization, etc.), filling, packaging, storage, and delivery.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and standards (regulatory and voluntary) with emphasis on GMP in the entire facility.
  • Work with the Head of Beverage Production to plan, direct, and coordinate all QC issues throughout the entire production process.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to continually improve the QC Department.
  • Provide the necessary leadership to train and motivate the QC Team to effectively carry out all the QC processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the facility.
  • Provide expert advice to the Executive Management Team, contributing to the achievement of the company’s strategic objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Quality Control Operating Procedures: Implement and monitor quality control operating procedures to guarantee the consistency, safety standards, and quality of all food (beverages, fruit, etc.) produced.
  • Milk Receivable: Manage the milk receiving process, including testing, sampling, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with suppliers to maintain high- quality milk supply.
  • Production: Ensure that all production processes (receival, blending, & filling) are operated at optimum quality standards to achieve acceptable economic performance while meeting our customers’ requirements of quality, quantity, and timing.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all products meet industry and regulatory standards such as HACCP, ISO 9001, and any other relevant certifications.
  • Data Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data related to product quality, process efficiency, and safety to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support: Be available for emergency quality issues and provide immediate support in case of process breakdowns or other production interruptions.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues or product defects and identify root causes to implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Product Development Support: Assisting in the development of new products and processes by providing quality control expertise and recommendations.
  • Communication: Collaborate with other departments, including production, maintenance, supply chain, and distribution to address quality concerns and implement improvements.
  • Team Management: Leading and managing a team of Quality Control Technicians through training, mentorship, and the use of key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of quality control data, blending recipes and pasteurization processes to generate reports to provide insight to management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and product quality enhancement. Implement best practices to achieve these goals.

EDUCATION/ TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, quality management, or a related field. A master’s degree would be an asset.
  • 5 years of proven experience in quality control and processing within the beverage or food production facility.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of production management, risk management, and safety regulations.
