Massy Wood is recruiting fora Quality Coating Inspector - NACE LEvel III with experience in the oil, gas and energy industry.

 

Overview / Responsibilites

The Quality Coating Inspector is responsible for providing the quality inspection and oversight related to surface protection and oversight of in-process surface preparation and coating associated with delivery of a final product.

The Quality Coating Inspector will assist in the execution of the quality assurance and quality control program by ensuring quality issues/ challenges within Construction execution are identified, reported and rectified while planning and coordinating the implementation of QAQC plans and coating inspection activities.

Inspect, supervise and attest key hold ITP’s points along with Subcontractors quality personnel on the field.

The candidate is also responsible for the development of safe, effective, and efficient construction deliverables in adherence with project and statutory requirements. 

 

  • Responsible for the quality, accuracy, integrity, and timely issue of coating and preservation associated with construction deliverables in support of Mechanical Completion.
  • Acts as the Quality focal point for all surface preparation and coating related activities in support of the overall construction deliverable of the CDS team.
  • Review scope of work and ensure alignment to client requirement, Inspection Test Plan and Massy Wood’s coating procedures.
  • Maintain quality governance related to NACE, SSPC, ASME requirements.
  • Review procedures and quality documentation such as Inspection Test Plans, inspection procedures, drawings, isometrics etc. to establish surface preparation and coating parameters based on client specifications.
  • Validate the approval, distribution, and revision of Procedures and Inspection Test Plans for overall Coating activities.
  • Review all reports under areas of control to determine accuracy and follow up on any corrective or improvement actions.
  • Responsible for generating and submitting timely, accurate daily reports to Quality Supervisor, Construction Lead and Construction Coordinator.
  • Acts as the site Quality focal point for all surface preparation and coating related activities in support of the overall construction deliverable of the CDS team.
  • Ensure all work carried out complies with company and client standards along with current legislation and follows sound maintenance practices.
  • Review all inspection reports for compliance, with reference to applicable industry codes and site standards/procedures.
  • Populate and complete Paint Reports and all applicable to end-to-end surface protection.
  • Responsible for the initiation, collection, disposition, and retention of QA/QC records in a timely manner in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Conduct quality surveillances and self-verification on associated work activities, documentation, and processes etc.
  • Ensure phase release pre-coating activities complies and is executed in accordance with Massy Wood and Client specifications.
  • Anticipate potential roadblocks and provide technical proactive solutions to quality related.
  • Performs all other related job functions as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma or related field from a recognized institution.
  • Related industry courses NACE Level II or III
  • Diploma/Certification in Construction, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from a recognised institution.
  • Certification/Training in Quality (must be based on ISO 9001:2015) from a recognized institution.  (For example, CQE, CQA, CQT or CQI).
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with AWS.
  • Supervisory Training certification will be an asset.
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
  • Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (TBOSIET).
Competencies & Experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position
  • A working knowledge of NACE standards, ISO 8501 & SSPC Systems.
  • Inspector shall have direct knowledge of all aspects of corrosion protection i.e. surface preparation and protection, coating application and techniques etc.
  • Shall demonstrate a working a thorough knowledge and proven ability of all phases and types of critical coating applications, methods, and recognized industry standards.
  • As a minimum, he shall have experience with testing equipment.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
