S.M. Jaleel & Company Limited, leaders in the manufacturing and distribution of non-alcoholic beverages seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced professional to fill the of Quality Assurance Technician at our factory in Otaheite, South Oropouche.

 Position Profile

The position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and the Technical Manager. The incumbent is primarily responsible for assisting in ensuring that Quality standards systems are stringently maintained.

Quality Assurance Technician ensures that manufactured products meet company and customer quality specifications. The role also extends to checking and testing according the frequency at which continuous or random tests are undertaken.The work involves working very closely with production personnel carrying out scheduled and random checks on product quality during the production process and also final tests prior to products being dispatched to the customer. They will also be involved with conducting inspections and investigations into products that require improvement. It is important that they are able to identify where in the production process problems or faults could have arisen and be able to isolate the nonconforming product. To ensure GMP and HSE practices are followed and to comply with all programs and policies established towards manufacturing a high quality, food safe product that conform to regulatory standards for our customers, both internal and external.

Key Responsibilities:

• Water Quality Management
• Effluent testing
• Food Microbiology and Beverage Quality Control
• Qualitative and Quantitative chemical analysis.
• Product Testing and Analysis - Conducts tests, inspections and analysis specific to the functional labs assigned.(Doing checks/analyses accurately and within frequency as prescribed).
•  Non- Non-Conformance Management - Effective and timely communication and actioning of all non-conformances detected. (Tags all non-conforming products within 30 minutes of occurrence)
• Pulls and checks samples of non-conforming products at the end of the shift.
• Communicate with the relevant persons of the non-conformance verbally and in writing by using the log book and required forms. 
• Quality Reporting and Record Keeping - Timely and accurate submission of reports. (on system, and hard copy forms).
• Close AX quality orders/ batch production numbers within one hour of production completion.
• Create AX transfer order back to RM for excess syrup raw materials in production WIP. Ensure excess raw materials are physically transferred back to RM.
• Completes standardized Shift Report in the time specified.
• Completes yield Report as required.
• Completes Quality assurance line sheets in a timely manner.
• Quality assurance water treatment sheets completed as required.
• Ensures Startup check sheets are completed and submitted as required.
• Maintain and record all compliance records, batch reports Batch Quality orders.
• NCN reports
• Shift Handover - Ensure that a complete and accurate handover is done to relief Technician.
• GMP Compliance -Adheres to and Enforces GMP throughout the plant.
• Ensures that fellow co-workers adhere to GMP standards.
   

Candidate Profile:

• BSc Microbiology, Biology or another related field. 
• 5 CXC O' levels including, Mathematics, English and Chemistry.
• Previous experience in the beverage industry will be considered an asset.
• Experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred.
• Computer literacy
