We're hiring a Quality Assurance Manager

Our client is a leading manufacturer with over 40 years of expertise in health, cosmetics, and personal care product development. Renowned for their commitment to quality and innovation, they specialize in formulating and producing high-quality products that meet local and international standards. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to lead their quality and food safety initiatives, drive compliance, and maintain excellence in their operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality & Food Safety Management:

  • Develop and implement the company’s Quality and Food Safety Management Systems (QFMS).
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with GMP, ISO 9001, HACCP, SQF, and other quality standards.
  • Regularly audit quality control procedures, records, and processes to maintain high standards.
  • Conduct validation of production systems, processes, and formulations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Supervise the documentation of quality systems and ensure all records are up to date.
  • Lead training programs for employees on GMP, food safety, and quality assurance.
  • Guide the company in transitioning to and implementing new quality and food safety standards.
  • Assist with product registration for both local and international markets.
  • Serve as the SQF Practitioner, ensuring all food safety plans are effectively managed.

Internal Audits & Compliance:

  • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with food safety and quality policies.
  • Monitor and analyze production, laboratory procedures, and batch yields for compliance.
  • Perform root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective/preventative actions.
  • Work closely with teams to ensure all employees follow best practices in product handling and documentation.
  • Keep leadership informed on quality system performance and recommend improvements.

Laboratory & Product Testing:

  • Oversee laboratory testing to ensure product safety and consistency.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to lab equipment, procedures, and accreditation of external testing facilities.
  • Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and take necessary actions.
  • Ensure the quality of water used in the production process and compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in validating new testing procedures and product formulations.

Team Leadership & Training:

  • Provide guidance and training to employees on quality standards, food safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment to achieve company-wide quality goals.
  • Identify training needs and recommend internal or external learning programs.

Product Development & Improvement:

  • Support the development and refinement of new products.
  • Assist with the selection, formulation, and standardization of raw materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to market research and consumer insight initiatives for product improvements.
  • Ensure food safety plans are properly validated and verified for new products.

Authority:

  • Issue and manage nonconformance reports.
  • Approve food safety and quality plans.
  • Identify and coordinate training initiatives related to quality and safety.
  • Make final decisions on raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished product quality.

Standards & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with SQF Food Safety Code (Edition 9).
  • Maintain adherence to ISO 9001:2015 and GMP standards.
  • Uphold the highest levels of food safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.

What You Need to Succeed:

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field.
  • HACCP certification (minimum two-day training with assessment).
  • Training in auditing techniques and process control is a plus.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in pharmaceutical or food processing.
