Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to lead and oversee the quality assurance function within our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control & Compliance:

    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO, FDA, GMP, and other relevant industry standards.
    • Develop, update, and enforce quality policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure products meet customer and regulatory specifications.
    • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Lead the root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) process for non-conformities, customer complaints, and product failures.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify areas for process optimization to improve product quality, yield, and operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to implement process improvements and resolve production-related quality issues.
    • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, or other process optimization techniques.
  • Product Inspections & Testing:

    • Oversee the testing, inspection, and verification of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
    • Ensure testing procedures are followed correctly and data is accurately documented.
    • Review and approve product specifications, test plans, and quality control documentation.
  • Supplier Quality Management:

    • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components meets required standards.
    • Conduct supplier audits and support the selection and qualification of new suppliers.
  • Reporting & Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, audits, testing, and any corrective actions taken.
    • Prepare regular quality performance reports and communicate findings to senior management, including metrics related to defects, scrap rates, and customer complaints.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or a related field (preferred).
    • Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent are highly desirable.
    • HACCP certified is an asset.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
    • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA regulations, GMP).
    • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen is preferred.
