QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

Core Purpose

 

The Quality Assurance Manager is primarily charged with working to ensure the quality of products manufactured by the Company while at the same time determining the cause of quality products and defects, which may affect the Company's profitability and long term growth.

 

Key Purpose 

  • Devise procedures  to inspect and report quality assurance issues
  • Supervise the daily operation of the quality laboratory
  • Monitor all operations that affect quality
  • Supervise and guide technicians and other staff
  • Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output
  • Report all malfunctions to production executives to ensure immediate action
  • Review current standards and  policies
  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
  • Create product specification to promote compliance the first time around
  • Document formulation of each ice cream flavour used in the production process 
  • Ensure all legal standards are met
  • Develop quality manuals
  • Monitor and maintain the laboratory's quality assurance database
  • Promote food safety through education and training
  • Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation
  • Develop, maintain and review quality control charts
  • Responsible for the Company's training programme including identification of training needs in collaborating with Heads of Departments
  • Prepare and review quality control standards and limits, detection limits and action levels from laboratory analysis
  • Collate and analyze results from the laboratory against parameters
  • Research and implement new laboratory testing methods
  • Ensure product compliance with local and international standards
  • Monitor packaging and staff handling of finished products
  • Perform internal audit of both factory and warehouse to track progress according to established standards and goals set
  • Evaluate and investigate product modification
  • Audit suppliers to ensure compliance with Company's standards and those of local regulatory agencies
  • Consults with customers as required to solve problems and/or address queries
  • Manage waste water system
  • Manage pest treatment systems
  • Manage sanitation treatment, procedures and policies

  Key Requirements 

  • B. Sc. in Pure Science/Chemical Engineering
  • At least 5  years’ experience in the manufacturing industry and at least two years at the supervisory level
  • Must be knowledgeable in microbiology and biochemical laboratory techniques
  • Good coordinating and organizational skills
  • Strong sense of integrity, fair play, and confidentiality
  • Good interpersonal relationship with all levels of staff
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to train and lead staff
  • Sound written and oral  communications 
  • Proficient at research and documentation
  • Must pay attention to details
