Purchasing and Inventory Officer
Our client, a well-known producer of quality products for the special needs of the hospitality industry and households, is seeking to recruit a Purchasing and Inventory Officer. The incumbent will report to the Finance and Administration Manager.
a) Planning, implementing and managing inventory control procedures and policies.
b) Ensuring the timely completion of order placements, supply and demand alignment, material replenishment and vendor performance.
c) Entering and ensuring the accuracy of procurement information within the inventory management system of the company.
d) Arranging all the logistics, shipping, clearing and receiving all procured supplies.
e) Monitoring and tracking all inventory to ensure items are not out of stock or expired (following the FIFO method).
f) Researching potential vendors and negotiating contract terms of agreement and pricing.
g) Supervise the Production Assistant.
a) A Tertiary Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
b) A minimum of three (3) years’ related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
c) Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel). Previous experience with using ERP software (i.e., SAGE 300) would be an asset.
d) Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
e) Must possess a strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact with and adapt to varying personality types and cultures.
f) Must possess excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team.
g) Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve purchasing and inventory-related problems.
h) Outstanding organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to monitor and track numerous ongoing activities and projects simultaneously.
i) Ability to maintain a flexible approach to work and possess excellent teamwork skills to meet departmental objectives.
j) Must possess high standards of ethics and be able to maintain confidentiality and prevent disclosure of sensitive information.
