Purchasing Manager

Everything Fresh Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, including identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large volume of suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, and optimizing inventory levels to maximize profitability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of products
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, delivery, price, and other relevant criteria
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favourable terms
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, ensuring that they meet or exceed service level expectations
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with sales and marketing teams to ensure optimal inventory levels
  • Analyse market trends, monitor competitor activity, and make recommendations to management on sourcing and pricing strategies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including ethical and sustainable sourcing practices
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability.
  • Preparation of Purchase Orders
  • Ensure follow-ups are done regarding the inbound logistics of all shipments for the company 
  • Coordinate the activities for clearance of shipments
  • Ensure that all necessary permits (Ministry of Agriculture and JACRA) are in place for shipments  based on purchase orders sent to suppliers 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a food distribution organization working in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a proven track record of success
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in negotiating favourable contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Proficient in Sage and Microsoft Office
