Programmer Analyst (Aventa T&T)

The Programmer Analyst’s role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements.

JOB SUMMARY:      

The Programmer Analyst’s role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. The role involves writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Programmer Analyst will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Software Development

• Designs, develops, and maintains software applications in accordance with data processing needs.
• Writes clean, efficient, and well-documented codes using appropriate technologies and coding standards.
• Collaborates with team members to review and improve code quality. 

Analysis and Design

• Analyses project requirements and collaborates with stakeholders to define software specifications.
• Contributes to the architectural design and technical documentation of software solutions. 

Testing and Debugging:

• Conducts thorough testing of developed software to ensure functionality, performance, and security.
• Identifies and debugs issues and provide timely resolutions. 

Continuous Learning:

• Stays updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software development.
• Shares knowledge with the team and contributes to a culture of continuous learning. 

Documentation:

• Creates and maintains technical documentation for software solutions, including code documentation, architecture diagrams, and user manuals. 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. 

EXPERIENCE:

• At least 3 years’ experience in a Programmer Analyst or similar role. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript or similar.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools.
