The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC), in its drive towards improving and expanding its services, is pleased to invite applications for the following CONTRACT position:

PROGRAMME MANAGER

one (1) position

JOB SUMMARY:

The Programme Manager will report directly to the General Manager.  The incumbent will be responsible for the amalgamation of all projects at the corporation inclusive of change management, co-ordination of the programme’s projects and management of their interdependencies ensuring these projects are within the prescribed timelines and budget.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works closely with General Manager, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plans, budgets, and timing for new initiatives;
  • Strategises, implements, and maintains programme  initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives;
  • Prepares a master document with all individual projects with timelines to achieve the goals of the Corporation;
  • Maintains  an up to date Project risk register and suggests/implements risk mitigation strategies;
  • Liaises with all Departments to increase awareness of programs;
  • Manages programme and project teams for optimal return-on-investment, and coordinates and delegates cross-project initiatives;
  • Identifies key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors;
  • Develops and manages budgets for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives;
  • Works with project managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the Department;
  • Analyses, evaluates, and overcomes program risks, and produces program reports for management and stakeholders;
  • Oversee the Project Manager and Technical Team
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned by the General Manager;

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, Project Management or a related field;
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Facilities Management, Business Administration or a relevant field;
  • Specialised training in Occupational Health and Safety will be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office inclusive of MS Project, AutoCAD;
  • PMP Certification would be an asset.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Excellent management skills including ability to hold others and self-accountable, to make difficult decisions when necessary, to focus on results, to analyze data, and to plan, develop, and implement formal work plans to ensure the maintenance of confidentiality in the performance of duties.
  • At least 7- 10 years of Post Qualified Experience for a strategic oversight post;

Any combination of experience and academic qualifications from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
