Production Manager
PRODUCTION MANAGER
Purity Bakeries Limited, a leading manufacturer of bread and bakery products and a member of the Goddard Group of Companies, is seeking to recruit a highly organized, proficient, and results-oriented individual for the position of Production Manager.
Primary Objective
The Production Manager shall have responsibility for the overall management of the Production Department in the bakery. The successful candidate shall be responsible for the strategizing, planning, direction, and coordination of all direct and indirect production inputs and activities to achieve the company’s targets. This role shall ensure that products are produced in compliance with all relevant regulatory, quality and food safety standards. The incumbent shall oversee a large team including Production Supervisors, Operators and General Workers.
Duties Include But are Not Limited to:
- Planning, directing, and organizing the activities of the production department to ensure production targets are met or exceeded.
- Liaising with Purchasing, Maintenance, Distribution, Quality and Human resources departments to coordinate the necessary resources and activities required to meet departmental/company objectives.
- Establishing and reviewing Production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure order fulfillment, plant efficiency and cost targets are met or exceeded.
- Ensuring compliance with the relevant regulatory, safety, quality, and food safety standards in the department.
- Facilitating the recruitment, training, and coaching of Production employees to ensure developmental objectives and necessary skills acquisition, including performance evaluations of the Production Supervisors.
- Managing the disciplinary process for the production department in accordance with company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant should possess:
- An undergraduate degree in a technical or related field such as Operations and Production Management, Engineering, Logistics or General Management. A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant work experience in a production or manufacturing environment with three (3) years’ operating in a Leadership capacity.

- Possess strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to be flexible given the dynamic nature of the operations.
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
- An exceptional work ethic, energy, and drive.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office Applications.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP.
