Production Craftsman II (Electrical)

Provides electrical troubleshooting support for machines in Secondary and Primary Manufacturing, and Engineering Departments, resolving issues that affect the cigarette manufacturing process. Also offers relief operation for machinery in both manufacturing departments.

Responsabilities:

• Provides direct electrical support, analysis, and troubleshooting across the Secondary Manufacturing, Primary Manufacturing, and Engineering Departments.
•  Performs machine installations, upgrades, and modifications utilising the support of both in-house and contracted personnel.
• Performs Corrective and Preventative Maintenance activities in accordance with procedures utilising the support of both in-house and contracted personnel.
•  Carries out adjustments to machines to ensure compliance with product specifications.
•  Records machine performance data as specified, reasons why targets are not met, and recommendations to achieve targets in a machine downtime report.
• Recommends upgrades or improvements to current equipment/ electrical systems.
• Creates and/or executes work orders / maintenance tickets for machine performance issues.
• Cleans and maintains machines and workplace areas per machine and housekeeping checklist and procedure.
• Performs electrical/electronic analysis troubleshooting and repairs to support corrective and preventative maintenance activities. 
•  Identifies spare parts and sub assemblies needed to support corrective and preventative maintenance activities and recommends the respective inventory control levels. 
• Ensures at the shift change an effective and efficient shift handover is performed in accordance to the procedure

Requirements:

• EEET Diploma or NEC Electrical Craft, Journeyman with at least five (5) years electrical experience.
• PLC Trained and Certified
•  Manufacturing experience of three (3) years.
• Demonstrated know-how in maintaining the run ability of the machine.
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Good working knowledge of tobacco processing and technology.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
