Product Development Associate

The Product Development Associate is responsible for assisting with the development and roll out of products. This includes but is not limited to product improvements, surveys, line extensions, cost reductions and new products.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist with new product developments, line extensions and other product modifications in a timely manner.
• Assist with research and development activities for new and existing products.
• Assist in securing and maintaining the confidentiality of recipes and ingredients of all products.
• Generate and maintain laboratory test reports.
• Testing of all new incoming samples for local and international suppliers.
• Blend formulations for lab samples.
• Conduct and record findings of taste surveys.
• Assist with ensuring conformance of existing and new product outer packaging (sleeves, Tetra Pak cartons, gable cartons, pressure sensitive labels) to the relevant local or international standards.
• Assist with creating product specifications for all raw material and packaging material used in production.
• Oversee sanitation procedures of the laboratory.

Education/Training & Experience

• First Degree in Food Sciences or a related discipline
• 2-3 years’ of laboratory experience  
• Experience working in compliance with ISO standards and HACCP principles
