The incumbent in this position is required to support the Procurement Manager

Objective

The incumbent in this position is required to support the Procurement Manager in all assigned activities in the Procurement Department including the warehouse, purchasing and logistics areas.

 

Main Responsibilities include:  

Planning and Monitoring:

  • Support to prepare Procurement reports and presentations and ensures information flows in a timely manner.
  • Support to ensure compliance with KPIs for purchases and warehouse administration; as well as with the policies defined for the performance of procurement’s functions overall.
  • Support communication management and internal and external image of the area.
  • Support to ensure the fulfillment of the institutional guidelines for establishing part numbers, catalogs and standardization of locations.
  • Support to increase the number of materials and products under agreements.
  • Support to ensure compliance with the objectives for Inventory Working Capital including but not limited to critical spares reviews, min/max review, overstock reviews, obsolescence reviews, etc.
  • Assist with the coordination and roll out of the department projects.
  • Support for the enhancement of safety in all procurement areas.
  • Support for warehousing and negotiations personnel during absences and/or plant turnarounds.
  • Provide additional support as requested by Procurement Manager when required.

Negotiation

  • Collaborates with the Negotiations team to understand local impact of company’s purchasing policies (promotes awareness toward local community needs).
  • Supports the department with spot purchases for outages and/or extraordinary events.

Continuous improvement:

  • Participates in cement plant ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and other certifications.
  • Participates in audits: PACS, SOX, etc.

 


Required Education / Expertise / Skills:

  • Technical or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Logistics.
  • Facility to travel between the 3 plants (Claxton Bay, Mayo and Melajo).
  • Ability to physically assist in warehouse type activities.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Good communication skills.

 

 

Required Experience:

  • Experience in Warehouse, Inventory, Logistics and Projects will be an asset.
  • Experience in related fields will be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and SAP will be an asset.
